DCF understands that in extenuating circumstances, social assistance is necessary for individuals to prevail through life’s trials and tribulations. Studies show that at-risk individuals who are given social assistance are more likely to experience resiliency against the facilities life. Since 2013, DCF has implemented engaging curriculum that incorporate increasing the social assistance available for at-risk youth and young adults. DCF provides participants with assistance toward living expenses or with special circumstances to help decrease stress, social isolation, and social pressures. Individuals who participate in any of the DCF initiatives enormously increase their ability to cope with stress, make informed decisions, and persevere through hardship to maximize their potential.
