DCF strives to provide rehabilitation services to felons in an effort to help them assimilate back into society. We understand that it can be extremely difficult for felons to adjust to the normality after serving their sentences. They can experience hardship choosing a career and being accepted in a field that enables them to make the income necessary for survival. They also experience issues attaining adequate housing or even getting photo identification. These difficulties lead to bigger problems and often result in the ex-offender being reincarcerated. Our goal is to reduce recidivism rates by creating reentry programs to help with transitional housing, employment assistance, education and job training, counseling, mentoring, substance abuse treatment and assistance with family connections.
